Meet Michaela Groth, the visual version of Grace Brown's ghost! On November 5th, the Players of Utica graciously allowed me to use their new green screen to videotape Michaela Groth, the actress who won the role in The Party Crasher, based on the feature length screenplay, Lady of the Lake.
Michaela Groth grew up in the Village of Aurora, a charming hamlet in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York. In 2017, Ms. Groth earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Nazareth College in Rochester. Since then, Michaela has been developing her craft in New York City and elsewhere around the country.
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, became the setting where Michaela could showcase her vocal talent in productions that are among her favorites, including Monster Stomp: On Ripper Row, Night Beats Revamped and Celtic Fyre. Until recently, she was touring as the lead singer of The Young Irelanders, entertaining audiences throughout the Midwest before it was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After responding to an advertisement on the CNY Arts Auditions & Classes FB page, Michaela was chosen to play the ghost of Grace Brown. Michaela is excited to continue working on creative endeavors during this unique period and is finding strength in living one day at a time. @michaelaagroth MichaelaGroth.com

Hana Meyers threw years of acting experience into the role of "Becky" in The Party Crasher and it showed! Hana's comedic timing and enunciation made her performance sparkle in The Party Crasher. The role of Becky was conceived as a fun friend for Yvonne and Kelly. Whereas Yvonne is reserved, Becky's outgoing. Becky's sweetness contrasts with Kelly's boldness. Hana was chosen to play Becky because her personality appeared to match Becky's during the audition.
With a degree in Theatre from Mohawk Valley Community College, Hana has appeared in almost 50 stage productions in and around Utica, NY. Lately, Hana's been lending her voice to the Podcast, "Taking Flight" for CNY Pod Players as well as several radio productions for Players of Utica, New York State's oldest continually running community theater. Ms. Meyers helped promote a bright future for the theater by serving on the Board of Governors and spending a term as their Vice President of Operations in 2017.
For over a decade, Hana has been working with people who live with intellectual disabilities. A person with Down syndrome has become one of Hana's most cherished friends. This friendship led Hana to volunteer as an ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Society. Hana's also in the process of becoming a licensed, foster parent.
